Rev. Glenn Meyer was installed as the pastor at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church on May 16, 2010.
Pastor Meyer was born in Columbus, Nebraska and comes from a long ancestry of strong Christian farmers. He is the oldest of eleven children.
From his earliest memories, Pastor Meyer always knew that he would be a missionary/pastor. He attended Lutheran schools his entire life - grade schools in Leigh and Pierce, NE, and Lutheran High Schools in Seward, NE and Concordia, MO. He graduated from Concordia Teacher’s College, Seward, NE in 1977 with a Lutheran elementary school teaching degree. He then attended Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, graduating in 1981.
Pastor Meyer has served congregations in Independence MO (1981 –1983), Creston, IA (1983 –1996) and Glendale, WI (1996 –2010)
During his time at Concordia, Seward, NE, he met his wife, Susan (Bergquist). Sue is a trained Deaconess of the LC-MS and has taught preschool for a number of years.
God has bless Pastor and Sue with three children. Anna, who served in Taiwan as a missionary and now teaches in Boone, Iowa; Rachel, who is a RN in St. Louis, MO, and is married to Aaron Kuehn and has a daughter, Johanna; and Timothy, who graduated from Concordia University, Seward, NE in 2011.
Pastor Meyer served as a Circuit Counselor in both Iowa West and in South Wisconsin. He served on boards for Iowa West District, Lutheran Special School of Milwaukee, Concordia University, WI, and most recently for the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee. Pastor Meyer had a daily devotional radio ministry in Creston, IA. He has had the privilege of being involved with the Pastoral Leadership Institute (PLI) visiting churches throughout the U.S. and participating with his wife in a mission trip to Hong Kong and mainland China in January of 2006.
